From simulation-driven prototypes to scalable converters and SOW-based project delivery, explore answers to the most pressing questions shaping next-generation power electronics.
Unlike traditional outsourcing, which often focuses on providing manpower, the Transphorms Power Electronics Offshore Development Center (PE-ODC) is a Statement-of-Work (SOW)-based delivery model. That means each engagement has clearly defined milestones, acceptance criteria, and compliance targets. Technical leadership remains in the U.S., ensuring architecture and standards integrity, while offshore execution accelerates prototyping and iteration. This hybrid approach gives you predictable costs, certifiable outcomes, and IP safety — advantages rarely guaranteed in conventional outsourcing.
Yes. The reference platforms we showcase — from 2.2 kW AC↔DC chargers to 45 kW dual active bridge (DAB) converters and solid-state circuit breakers — are starting points, not end points. Through our PE-ODC, we adapt and scale them to client-specific requirements: different voltage classes, unique form factors, higher efficiency targets, or compliance with sector-specific standards (e.g., OCP rack specs, ISO 15118, IEC 61800, aerospace reliability standards). The result is a tailored, production-ready solution delivered under SOW governance.
Our digital twin workflow replicates real-world operating conditions for converters, chargers, and protection systems before hardware is built. Using MATLAB, PLECS, and LTSpice, we simulate switching losses, EMI spectra, thermal hotspots, and transient fault behavior. This simulation-first methodology typically cuts prototyping cycles by 30–40%, identifies compliance risks early, and ensures that the final prototype closely matches predicted performance. For clients, this means fewer surprises, faster certification, and reduced time-to-market.
We serve sectors where power density, efficiency, and reliability are mission-critical. That includes AI data centers adopting OCP standards and demanding >96% rack efficiencies; electric mobility (EV chargers, onboard DC-DC converters, traction inverters); renewable energy & grid storage with high-voltage multi-level inverters; and space & interplanetary applications, where radiation-hardened, fault-tolerant power systems are essential. Across all these industries, our PE-ODC SOW model enables faster, more cost-effective, and compliance-ready development.
